CEMBA History

Short history of CEMBA

In 1991, the Canadian Management Centre was established at the Warsaw School of Economics. In 1995, as the Canadian MBA Office, it launched the Executive Master of Business Administration (CEMBA) studies. They were (and still are) geared to working professionals: entrepreneurs, managers, CEO's. MBA studies conducted in the time period between 1995-2000, as a result of co-operation of two Canadian universities (University of Calgary and University of Quebec at Montreal), were sponsored by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). Up to the end of the year 2000, more than 180 students finished their studies. In September 2000, on the basis of the agreement between the Warsaw School of Economics and the ESG - University of Quebec at Montreal (ESG - UQAM), a subsequent edition of the MBA program was launched. The first group of 40 students started classes in September 2000. Students start classes at the begining of November every year. Since CEMBA's inception in 1995/1996, 835 students in 28 cohorts have graduated from the CEMBA programme. Cohort XXXI will start on the 7th of March, 2025.

Since March 2017 Canadian Executive MBA is AMBA Accredited Program.
